Please note the a the inventor of the Classic Eterra (not us) suggests that it can remain plugged in all the time... this is bad advice and will wear out your unit much faster . It's best to plug it in in on demand... the Tulip on the other hand is much less inclined to wear out since its all ceramic heater does not come in contact with wood...

Also please note The junction where the 12 volt power cord inserts into the Classic Eterra or Tulip can be worn out. We recommend that the Classic Eterra or Tulip remain plugged in to its power cord at all times. Supply power to the Classic Eterra or Tulip only by direct connection of the transformer to a small extension cord or to the wall direct. Carefully arrange the cords etc. so as to avoid toppling over items when the cord is moved.
